GDAB Blindfold Walkathon 2012

From S$10.00

Raising Awareness on the importance of guide dogs to the visually impaired by giving it more access to public places and transportation modes.

For the very first time, the public will get a chance to feel how it is like to be in the shoes of the Blind and at the same time be taught on the proper way to guide the blind, all that in a single day. This once in a lifetime event will take place on Sunday, 15 July 2012 at 11am at National Youth Council (Devonshire Road).

During the GDAB Blindfold Walkathon, participants will be walking in pairs. While one of the participant will be blindfolded, the partner will help to guide in situation such as crossing the road. The walk will begin at Orchard Cineleisure to Ion Orchard for the first half of the walk and participants will be walking the back route of Ion Orchard to Orchard Cineleisure to end the walk. This will be done with at least 50 participants in a group every hour. At the same time, the public can head down to the awareness carnival that is happening at the National Youth Council.
